Medieval routes
The area offers an important historical cultural legacy. Nearby we recommend visiting the medieval villages of Peratallada, Pals, Palau Sator and Ullastret. There is also a beautiful area close to the town of La Bisbal known as the “Catalan Tuscany” including such villages as: Madremanya, Monells and Sant Marti Vell.

Ruins
The historical past is reflected in important ruins such as the Iberian settlement of Ullastret, which preserves part of the defense wall that surrounded the city dated from or the Ruins of Empuries, the most important Greco-Roman archaeological settlements dating between the VII and III centuries BC.

City of Girona
Girona city is remarkable for the coloured houses and briges over Onyar river and the old town that concentrates many attractions: “Call” or Jewish quarter, the Gothic Cathedral, the Romanesque monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, the Arab Baths. It is worth visiting Girona city in May during the “Temps de Flor” flower exhibition.

Dali Triangle
Three houses, three places and all located in the Empordà and linked to Salvador Dali:
- Dali Museum in Figueras – Second most visited museum in Spain after the Prado. Opened in 1974, it contains the most representative works of the painter and permanent jewelry exhibition.
- Dali House in Port Lligat –Formed by a group of fisherman huts bought by the artist to reconvert them into his private home and workshop.
particular i al seu taller. - Pubol medieval castle –Dali bought this Gothic- Renaissance palace built in the XIV century for his wife Gala. Contains areas of great beauty, such as the old kitchen converted into a Gala´s bathroom or the Piano Room.

Natural Sites
The landscape of the Costa Brava is known for its natural richness and unique beauty:
Cabo de Creus was the first protected land and sea area in Catalonia, characterized for its “moon” landscape and the spectacular views from the lighthouse.
Medes Islands, one of the most important marine, flora and fauna natural protected area of the western Mediterranean. It is an ideal place for diving. From the beach of L’Estartit you can rent a ferry trip with glass floor to admire the spectacular funds.
Aiguamolls Emporda: is a wetland nature reserve of international importance in the protection and conservation of wild birds.
Platja Castell is located in the municipality of Palamos, with beautiful walks that will allow us to discover authentic fishermen’s huts as “Cala Salguer” and wild beaches as “Cala Estreta”.

Fishing villages
Discover the most purely Mediterranean villages with fishing tradition as Palamos, Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Cadaqués. Sea little villages with Mediterranean architecture, white walls and narrow cobbled streets decorated with flowers.

Path Networks
For our most adventurous and sportive visitors, a good way to discover the spectacular scenery of the Costa Brava is by following the small green routes. This extensive network of itineraries runs along the profile of Girona coastline and crosses coves, forests and emblematic towns.
