Medieval routes



The area offers an important historical heritage. The nearest medieval villages to visit are Peratallada, Pals, Palau Sator and Ullastret. One of the most beautiful areas near La Bisbal is the so-called 'Toscana Catalana', which includes the villages of Madremanya, Sant Martí Vell and Monells.

Ruins



The historical past is reflected in important ruins such as the Iberian settlement of Ullastret, which preserves part of the defensive wall that surrounded the city in the 6th century BC, or the ruins of Empúries, the most important Greco-Roman archaeological site in Spain, with three settlements dating from between the 7th and 3rd centuries BC.

Girona



In Girona you will experience the monumentality of its heritage, with an old town that concentrates numerous points of interest: the Call or Jewish quarter, the Gothic cathedral, the Romanesque monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, the Arab Baths, the houses and bridges over the Onyar river, etc. It is worth a visit in May during the exhibition "Temps de Flor".

Dali Triangle



Three houses, three places and all of them located in the Empordà and linked to Salvador Dalí:

Dalí Museum in Figueras - The second most visited museum in Spain after the Prado. Inaugurated in 1974, it contains the most representative works of the painter and permanent exhibition of jewels.
Casa Dalí in Port Lligat - House formed by a group of fishermen's huts that the artist bought to convert them into his private house and workshop.
Medieval Castle of Púbol - Medieval building that Dalí gave as a gift to his wife Gala, where he lived for a long time and which contains spaces of great beauty, such as the old kitchen converted into Gala's bathroom or the Piano Room.

Natural Sites



The landscape of the Costa Brava is known for its natural richness and unique beauty:


- Cap de Creus is the first protected land and maritime space in Catalonia and is characterized by its "lunar" nature and the views from its lighthouse.
- The Medes Islands are a completely wild archipelago that constitutes the most important reserve of marine flora and fauna in the western Mediterranean, an ideal place for scuba diving.
- The Aiguamolls Empordà is a natural reserve of international importance in the protection and conservation of wild birds.
- Platja Castell is located in the municipality of Palamós, with beautiful excursions that will allow us to discover authentic fishermen's huts, from Cala Salguer to one of the most secluded and wild beaches of the Empordà, Cala Estreta.

Fishing Villages



Discover the most purely Mediterranean villages, with white facades and narrow cobbled streets adorned with flowers. In Palamós, Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Cadaqués you will find the essence of the fishing villages of yesteryear.

Camí de ronda



For the more adventurous and active visitor, a good way to discover the spectacular scenery of the Costa Brava is to follow the Camí de Ronda. This extensive network of itineraries runs along the profile of the Girona coastline and crosses coves, forests and emblematic towns.
